Our Story: A Pioneer’s Vision
Every industry revolution begins with a single, visionary idea. For India’s packaging sector, that idea belonged to the late Shri Parasmal Gothi. In 1985, when disposable plastic packaging was in its infancy and building industrial infrastructure was a formidable challenge, Shri Parasmal Gothi saw an opportunity to transform the landscape. With unwavering determination, he didn’t just start a company; he built a foundation—literally.
His most significant testament to this vision is the Gothi Industrial Complex, a sprawling 5-acre campus in Puducherry that stands as a monument to his foresight. At a time when such ambitious projects were rare, he pioneered the introduction of extrusion and thermoforming technologies in India, founding Engineering Plastic Industries on a bedrock of innovation, quality, and tangible infrastructure. His vision was simple yet powerful: to provide Indian businesses with reliable, hygienic, and efficient packaging solutions that would empower their growth. This pioneering spirit—the courage to build not just for the present, but for the future—is the cornerstone of our identity.
From Father to Son: A Heritage of Expertise
Today, the legacy of Shri Parasmal Gothi is thoughtfully stewarded by his son, Sanjay Gothi. Under his leadership, the company continues to honour its founding principles while embracing new technologies and markets. This seamless transition from father to son embodies our commitment to long-term, stable partnerships.
What began as one man’s vision has flourished into a multi-generational mission, supported by a team with a combined 90 years of hands-on experience in sheet extrusion, thermoforming, and vacuum forming. Gothi Charitable Trust
Founded in 1995 with the fundamental mission of providing medical care to the underprivileged, the Gothi Charitable Trust embodies the Gothi family’s deep-seated commitment to giving back to the community. What began as an effort to address immediate healthcare needs has, over the past 30 years, organically grown into a holistic mission of empowerment and compassion, touching countless lives across Puducherry and Rajasthan.
Guided by the evolving needs of the community, our role has expanded significantly. We now champion education by sponsoring the schooling of hundreds of children. We empower women with sustainable livelihood opportunities, such as distributing sewing machines to foster financial independence.
The Gothi Charitable Trust is an integral part of our family’s ethos, reflecting a belief that true progress is inclusive. We are grateful for the support of our partners and welcome others who wish to join us in this meaningful journey of service.

Sponsorship of schooling and college education of 100’s of children, with emphasis on the girl child.
Conducting free cataract surgery in collaboration with Aravind Eye Hospital and Sankara Netralaya, with over 100,000 surgeries completed.
Distributing foot crutches and tricycles to the needy through philanthropic clubs and trusts in Chennai and Puducherry.
Distributing sewing machines to help girls support their families or earn income independently.
Providing monthly medication to all inmates of old age home in Chennai.
Providing food to physically challenged school children, and patients in the terminal stages of HIV and cancer.
Providing food to new mothers in charitable hospitals, monthly medication for all wards in a nursing home and baby food to an orphanage in Pondicherry.

Constructed a cow shelter at Pondy Goushala, Pondicherry, March 2024.
Built a patient attender shelter at IGMC & RC hospital in Pondicherry, April 2025.
Constructed a shelter shed at Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research Hospital, Pondicherry. Inaugurated by Shri Parasmal Gothi.
